Fixed bugs and the following security issues: bpo-36216: Changes urlsplit() to raise ValueError when the URL contains characters that decompose under IDNA encoding (NFKC-normalization) into characters that affect how the URL is parsed. bpo-35746: [CVE-2019-5010] Fix a NULL pointer deref in ssl module. The cert parser did not handle CRL distribution points with empty DP or URI correctly. A malicious or buggy certificate can result into segfault. Vulnerability (TALOS-2018-0758) reported by Colin Read and Nicolas Edet of Cisco. bpo-35121: Don't send cookies of domain A without Domain attribute to domain B when domain A is a suffix match of domain B while using a cookiejar with http.cookiejar.DefaultCookiePolicy policy. Patch by Karthikeyan Singaravelan. For more information, see: https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2019-5010 (* Security fix *) d/scons-3.0.5-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. k/kernel-source-4.19.32-noarch-1.txz: Upgraded. n/curl-7.64.1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. n/gnutls-3.6.7-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. Fixes security issues: libgnutls, gnutls tools: Every gnutls_free() will automatically set the free'd pointer to NULL. This prevents possible use-after-free and double free issues. Use-after-free will be turned into NULL dereference. The counter-measure does not extend to applications using gnutls_free(). libgnutls: Fixed a memory corruption (double free) vulnerability in the certificate verification API. Reported by Tavis Ormandy; addressed with the change above. [GNUTLS-SA-2019-03-27, #694] libgnutls: Fixed an invalid pointer access via malformed TLS1.3 async messages; Found using tlsfuzzer. [GNUTLS-SA-2019-03-27, #704] libgnutls: enforce key usage limitations on certificates more actively. Previously we would enforce it for TLS1.2 protocol, now we enforce it even when TLS1.3 is negotiated, or on client certificates as well. When an inappropriate for TLS1.3 certificate is seen on the credentials structure GnuTLS will disable TLS1.3 support for that session (#690). libgnutls: enforce the equality of the two signature parameters fields in a certificate. We were already enforcing the signature algorithm, but there was a bug in parameter checking code. (* Security fix *) isolinux/initrd.img: Rebuilt. kernels/*: Upgraded. usb-and-pxe-installers/usbboot.img: Rebuilt.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Happy 25th anniversary to the Slackware 1.00 release! When the original announcement went out on Usenet, I believe it had a UTC timestamp which has led to some confusion over whether the anniversary falls on the 16th (which was the date when I made the post) or on the 17th (which is when most people first saw it)... but really, what's the difference? We can celebrate on both days as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for sticking with the project all these years. Glad I was able to help. :) Here's a link to the 1.00 announcement: http://www.slackware.com/announce/1.0.php And here's a nice article that was posted on opensource.com: https://opensource.com/article/18/7/stackware-turns-25 a/kernel-firmware-20180717_8d69bab-noarch-1.txz: Upgraded. l/pulseaudio-12.2-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. n/gnutls-3.6.3-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. n/mutt-1.10.1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Thu Jun 30 20:26:57 UTC 2016 Slackware 14.2 x86_64 stable is released! The long development cycle (the Linux community has lately been living in "interesting times", as they say) is finally behind us, and we're proud to announce the release of Slackware 14.2. The new release brings many updates and modern tools, has switched from udev to eudev (no systemd), and adds well over a hundred new packages to the system. Thanks to the team, the upstream developers, the dedicated Slackware community, and everyone else who pitched in to help make this release a reality. The ISOs are off to be replicated, a 6 CD-ROM 32-bit set and a dual-sided 32-bit/64-bit x86/x86_64 DVD. Please consider supporting the Slackware project by picking up a copy from store.slackware.com. We're taking pre-orders now, and offer a discount if you sign up for a subscription. Have fun! :-)

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Wed Sep 26 01:10:42 UTC 2012 Slackware 14.0 x86_64 stable is released! We're perfectionists here at Slackware, so this release has been a long time a-brewing. But we think you'll agree that it was worth the wait. Slackware 14.0 combines modern components, ease of use, and flexible configuration... our "KISS" philosophy demands it. Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen. The Slackware team, the upstream developers, and (of course) the awesome Slackware user community. Have fun! :-)
